The Dhaka International Greenpreneurship Summit & GreenExpo 2024 (DIGS 2024), anticipated and provisionally planned for November in Dhaka, Bangladesh, cordially invites Greenpreneurs from your highly regarded nation to partake. DIGS pairs a GreenExpo with an international knowledge-sharing summit to foster global collaboration and local innovation. By doing so, Greenpreneurs are granted a significant platform to showcase their groundbreaking concepts and environmentally friendly products.

The global community is confronted with the severe consequences of climate change, all the while possessing tremendous opportunities for sustainable development. Our objective is to facilitate the transition to a green economy and foster sustainable business models by uniting Greenpreneurs from various backgrounds, thereby generating a powerful synergy. 

Green Product

Green products are crafted from natural or renewable resources, manufactured, and recycled using environmentally friendly methods.

Greenpreneurship is a form of entrepreneurship that promotes nature-based solutions and responsible consumption towards climate and environmental sustainability.

Greenpreneurs are visionary individuals who are deeply committed to solving environmental issues through innovative, sustainable solutions.

Conserving nature at every stage of the production cycle and consumption is the core philosophy of Greenpreneurship.

Greenpreneurship Explained

The term “Green Entrepreneurship” describes the establishment of innovative, sustainable, and ecologically friendly enterprises. The UN advocates for sustainable production and consumption, which aims to produce more with less, disentangle economic expansion from environmental deterioration, enhance resource efficiency, and encourage sustainable existences. (UNDP, 2011) 

ILO (International Labor Organization) defined Green Enterprise & Entrepreneurship as an activity which focuses on environmental sustainability while remaining commercially worthwhile. It can be a new start-up or an existing business that has transformed its operations to reduce its environmental impact. (ILO, 2009)

The process of supporting the needs for goods, services, works, and utilities in a way that achieves value for money over the course of the organization's whole life cycle and generates benefits for society, the economy, and the organization itself while significantly reducing negative environmental impacts is known as Sustainable Production Activity which is expediated by Green Enterprises. (UNEP, UNIDO & UNCTAD, 2015)

Change Initiative coined the term “Greenpreneurship,” inspired by the above definitions. It represents the pursuit of innovative, environmentally conscious enterprises that prioritize sustainability, ecological and biodiversity responsibility, nature conservation, and social impact alongside profitability and job creation. Greenpreneurial activities are characterized by using nature-based products throughout their production, consumption, transportation, and disposal processes, aiming to build a greener and sustainable future.
