Gender Transformative Climate Resilience Microfinance Project

Change Initiative successfully conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop for the project staff of Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK), supported by Christian Aid. The training, titled “Gender Transformative Climate Resilience Microfinance Project,” took place on April 20-21, 2024, at the GUK Training Centre in Gaibandha. The event focused on equipping GUK staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement a gender-responsive approach to climate resilience through microfinance.
The training was facilitated by a team of experts from Change Initiative, each bringing their specialized knowledge to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. M. Zakir Hossain Khan, the Chief Executive, served as the Patron and Thematic Expert, leveraging his expertise in Climate and Renewable Finance, Water, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Policy and Governance. Md. Riaz Uddin Khan, the Technical Advisor, was instrumental in designing the training curriculum and leading the sessions, drawing on his extensive experience in training and capacity building. N.R. Musfika Laiju, a Visiting Researcher and Gender Specialist, contributed as a Thematic Expert, focusing on integrating gender considerations into climate resilience strategies. Supporting the facilitation were Shadman Khalili, Manager of Business Development and Innovation, and Sabrin Sultana, Research Assistant, who both played key roles in ensuring the smooth execution of the training.
The training was well received by the participants, who appreciated the practical insights and tools provided. The knowledge and skills gained from this ToT will enable GUK staff to effectively implement the Gender Transformative Climate Resilience Microfinance Project, contributing to sustainable and inclusive development in their communities. This training marks a significant step in advancing gender equality and climate resilience through innovative microfinance solutions.
